Senior defensive back Jaquan Harris (Boston, Mass.) has been named the Framingham State Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 8th.
Harris was selected the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Defensive Player of the Week earlier this week after his record tying performance on Friday night. Harris has also been recognized with selection to the D3football.com Team of the Week and was awarded the NEWF Gold Helmet.
Harris, who earns his second defensive player of the week honor this season, recorded five interceptions in the Rams victory over Fitchburg State tying the NCAA Division III single game record. Harris now shares the single game record with 11 other people with the most recent occurring in 2002.
Harris, who established a new FSU single game interception record, now has eight interceptions on the year, tying the FSU mark for picks in a season.
