Location: Hanaway Rink - Plymouth, NH

  • Carroll wasted little time making it rain teddy bears when he snuck into the near side slot and put a wrist shot past the glove of Framingham State goaltender Adam Calabrese (Philadelphia, Pa.) just 1:44 into the game.
  • Plymouth State doubled the lead when Bergstrom, already the nation's top scoring defensemen, picked up a power play tally at the 10:45 mark, putting home a rebound off a shot by senior Matt Volonnino (Hackettstown, N.J.).
  • Carroll picked up his second of the night just 61 seconds later. He skated into the offensive zone with speed and fired a wrister top shelf over Calabrese's blocker.
  • Senior Ludvig Steenberg (Stockholm, Sweden) picked up his third assist of the period when he lobbed a puck from the neutral zone to sophomore JR Barone (West Chester, Pa.), who received the pass in stride and beat Calabrese to the blocker side with 3:10 left in the first.
  • Framingham State got one back late in the period when sophomore Michael Gennello (East Windsor, N.J.) spun and shot the puck from the far side slot to beat senior Evan Morelli (Reading, Mass.) with just 25 seconds left.
  • Stevens pushed the lead to 5-1 five minutes into the second period when he tapped in a perfect feed from Volonnino.
  • The Rams answered with a pair of goals in a two-minute, 45-second span. Sophomore Walker Hamilton (Anchorage, Alaska) rang the bell from the point at the 13:02 mark, and classmate Ryan Paul (Morgan, Vt.) tipped a Hamilton shot past Morelli with 4:11 left in the frame for a power play strike.
  • Stevens added his second of the night with 2:02 left in the period. Volonnino sent the puck from behind the goal line to an open Stevens in the slot, who whipped a wrist shot past the right pad of FSU goalie Greg Harney (East Haven, Conn.).
  • The Panthers added a pair of third period goals to wrap up the scoring. Freshman Mike McPherson (Somerville, Mass.) took the puck from behind the net on the far side and found sophomore Peter Laviolette (Nashville, Tenn.) streaking into the slot for a wrist shot to the glove side less than three minutes in and Bergstrom picked up his third point of the night with 4:14 to play when a screen in front allowed his shot from just inside the blue line to find the back of the net.

  • PSU's offense continued its recent hot streak. The Panthers have tallied 23 goals over the last three games and are now second in the nation averaging 5.62 goals per game.
  • Volonnino leads the nation with 2.38 points per game, while Covach and Bergstrom are tied for third at 2.25.
  • Volonnino and Steenberg each registered three assists on the night, while Barone (one goal, one assist) and Covach (two assists) also recorded multi-point games.
  • Hamilton notched a goal and an assist for the Rams.
  • Morelli made 14 stops to improve to 6-0-1 on the year, while Calabrese made 20 saves in the first period before giving way to Harney, who stopped 25 shots over the final 40 minutes.
  • Plymouth State outshot the Rams by a 24-2 margin in the first period and 53-17 for the game.
