Box Score

North Dartmouth, Mass. - Junior Shane Campbell (Marlborough, Mass.), senior Niall Mitchell (Rehoboth, Mass.) and junior Brian Pedrotti (Dalton, Mass.) combined for a one-hitter as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s baseball team won for the fourth consecutive time, defeating visiting Framingham State, 4-0, in a non-conference game at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Wednesday.  The loss snaps the Rams four game winning streak.

Senior left fielder Tom Ladore (Milford, Conn.) gave UMass Dartmouth a 1-0 lead in the second inning when his sacrifice fly drove home junior catcher Zak Talis (Lynnfield, Mass.), who had doubled. Talis singled home two runs in the third, and junior shortstop Ryan McDermott (Pembroke, Mass.) drove in the final Corsair run with a single in the fourth.

Campbell worked six innings, allowing a hit and a walk and striking out six Rams, earning the victory and improving his record to 1-0. Mitchell followed with two scoreless innings, and Pedrotti pitched the ninth. Junior Justin Wojcik (Dracut, Mass.) started for Framingham State and pitched the first seven innings, taking the loss and falling to 0-1.

The Corsairs will return to action when they host Southern Maine in a Little East Conference doubleheader Saturday, while the Rams will visit St. Joseph’s (Maine) Thursday.
