Sixth Seed Baseball Eliminated from MASCAC Tournament by Fifth Seed Salem State

Buzzards Bay, Mass. - The sixth seeded Framingham State University baseball team was defeated 5-2 by fifth seed Salem State this morning in the first elimination game of the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Tournament at Hendy Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams got on the board in the top of the first inning. Christian Cox singled home the first run and Johnny Lynch followed with an RBI ground out. 

  • The Vikings got on the board in the second on a sacrifice fly and took the lead in the bottom of the on an RBI single and another sacrifice fly. 

  • The Vikings added two more runs on an RBI single and RBI double in the fourth pushing the lead to 5-2. 

  • Jason Strickland started on the mound for the Rams and took the loss, going 3.1 innings allowing five earned runs on six hits with two walks. 

  • Cam Prescott tossed 4.2 innings of scoreless relief surrendering just one hit with two strikeouts. 

  • Cox finished the game 2-for-3 with a run scored, an RBI and two walks, while Massimo Mondi went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two walks.
