Baseball Opens Season with 5-1 Setback to Wentworth

Boston, Mass. - The Framingham State University baseball team opened the 2026 season with a 5-1 loss to Wentworth in non-conference action at Monan Park this afternoon.

- Records:  Framingham State (0-1), Wentworth (5-5)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

• After Wentworth took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second, the Rams answered with an RBI single up the middle from Roscoe Palmer in the top of third tying the game. 

• Wentworth took the lead for good in the bottom of the third and extended the advantage to 4-1 with a pair in the bottom of the fourth. 

• The Leopards capped the scoring with a run in the bottom of the eighth to reach the final margin. 

• Colin Johnson, Nicholas Kutcher, Gavin Shlosser, John Lynch, Palmer and Massimo Mondi all recorded hits for the Rams in the game. 

• Shlosser took the loss on the mound going four innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
