Baseball Sweeps Twinbill with Me.-Farmington

Winter Haven, Fla. - The Framingham State University baseball team took both games of a doubleheader this evening defeating Me.-Farmington 15-2 in the opener before erasing a 5-1 deficit with a ten running to take the nightcap 12-7 in non-conference action at Chain of Lakes.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • In the opener, the Rams got on the board in the top of the first on an RBI triple to deep center off the bat of Johnny Lynch. Nicholas Kutcher and Aricin Griffin added RBI singles, giving the Rams a 3-0 lead. 

  • Farmington tallied a run in the bottom of the first, and the Rams used a Peter Rubini RBI single in the second to lead 4-1. 

  • The Rams pushed the lead to 5-1 on a Mossimo Mondi sacrifice fly, but Farmington plated four in the bottom of the fourth tying the game at 5-5. 

  • The Rams retook the lead for good in the top of the fifth on an infield RBI single from Griffin.  The Rams added two more in the sixth and four in the seventh to reach the final score. 

  • Keith Ramsey earned the victory in relief tossing 1.2 scoreless innings allowing just two hits with a strikeout. 

  • Lynch finished the opener 4-for-4 with two runs scored, a double, a triple and four RBI 

  • In game two, the Rams fell behind 5-0 after Farmington scored two runs in the first and three in the second. 

  • The Rams scored a single run in the bottom of the second on a Samuel Conrad RBI single. 

  • The Rams exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the third taking control of the game. Christian Cox, Lynch, Nicholas Kutcher and Mondi delivered RBI hits in the inning. 

  • Farmington scored single runs in the fifth and seventh, and Mondi added a sacrifice fly for the Rams to reach the final margin. 

  • Jacob Ferreira earned the victory tossing 1.1 innings of relief, allowing no runs on no hits with two strikeouts and no walks. 

  • Cox finished the game 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Lynch went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI. Mondi finished with a pair of hits, two runs scored and two RBI.
