Baseball Swept By Bridgewater State in MASCAC Doubleheader

FraminghamMass. - The Framingham State University baseball team was defeated in both games of a doubleheader by Bridgewater State by scores of 14-4 and 12-4 this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Bowditch Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Bears grabbed a 2-0 lead in the opener after plating single runs in the first and second. 

  • The Rams cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the second when Roscoe Palmer tripled and scored on an infield single from Zachary Kern. 

  • The Bears plated five in the top of the third and extended the lead to 10-1 in the fifth. 

  • The Rams added two in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double from Johnny Lynch and an RBI single from Nicholas Kutcher. 

  • The Bears added four more in the final innings and the Rams took advantage of a Bear error to reach the final margin. 

  • Shaun Marsh took the loss on the mound for the Rams going 3.2 innings and allowing nine runs on 12 hits. 

  • In game two, the Bears took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Rams responded with three in the bottom of the inning. Palmer singled in a pair of runs and scored on a Bears error. 

  • The Bears tied the game in the top of the second and retook the lead for good with two in the third and four in the sixth. 

  • The Rams added their fourth run of the game in the seventh on a sacrifice fly from Mondi. 

  • Connor Thibault took the loss on the mound going 3.2 innings allowing 11 runs on 15 hits with three strikeouts.
