Baseball Walks Off with Victory in Game One of Split with Mass. Maritime

FraminghamMass. - The Framingham State University baseball team walked off with a 5-4 victory in game one before falling to Mass. Maritime 7-3 in game two this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Bowditch Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Bucs took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first of the opener, but the Rams plated two in the bottom of the frame on an RBI single from Nicholas Kutcher and a sacrifice fly from Rosco Palmer. 

  • The Rams added single runs in the bottom of the third on when Kutcher reached on an error scoring a runner from third and the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single from Massimo Mondi tying the game. 

  • The game remained tied until the bottom of the seventh when the Rams loaded the bases with two outs and Ryder Brown worked a game-winning walk. 

  • Kutcher finished game with a pair of hits and an RBI, while Christian Cox went 1-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored. 

  • August Hayes earned the victory tossing three innings of scoreless relief allowing just three hits with five strikeouts. 

  • In game two, the Bucs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Rams added two in the bottom of the inning on a Scott Paquette two run double to lead 2-1  

  • The Bucs reclaimed the lead for good with four in the top of the third and two more in the sixth. 

  • The Rams added a final run in the fourth on an RBI single from Paquette. 

  • Paquette finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Johnny Lynch finished with a pair of hits. 

  • Brady Perkins took the loss going four innings, allowing five runs, two earned, on three hits with six strikeouts.
