Baseball Falls to Springfield 5-2

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University baseball team was defeated 5-2 this afternoon by Springfield College in non-conference action at Bowditch Field.   

THE BASICS:

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

• After three scoreless innings, Springfield took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth and extended the lead with four in the top of sixth. 

• The Rams got on the board in the bottom of the seventh inning.  Johnny Lynch doubled giving the Rams runners on second and third and Nicholas Kutcher followed with a two run triple. 

• The Rams loaded the bases with two outs in the eighth, but the Pride were able to record the final and retire the Rams in the ninth to secure the victory. 

• Shaun Marsh took the loss on the mound going six innings, allowing five runs, one earned, on three hits with a strikeout and three walks. 

• Brady Perkins tossed three innings of scoreless relief allowing just three hits with a strikeout and no walks. 

• Kutcher finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBI.
