Field Hockey Falls to Fitchburg State in MASCAC Match

Framingham, MA - The Framingham State Rams were defeated by the Fitchburg State Falcons with a final score of 7-1 in a conference match held at Maple Street Field. 

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Fitchburg State 7, Framingham State 1 

  • Records: Framingham State (1-6, 0-2 MASCAC), Fitchburg State (4-3, 1-1 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Fitchburg State took an early lead with two quick goals by Samantha Yates in the first four minutes. 

  • Olivia Narkevicius added another goal for Fitchburg State in the 13th minute, assisted by Sophia Yates. 

  • Madison Butler scored in the 26th minute, extending Fitchburg State's lead to 4-0 at halftime. 

  • Olivia Narkevicius scored again in the 37th minute, followed by an unassisted goal from Sophia Yates in the 51st minute. 

  • Framingham State's Chloe Moynihan scored an unassisted goal in the 53rd minute to put the Rams on the board. 

  • Madison Butler sealed the victory for Fitchburg State with a final goal in the 56th minute. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Fitchburg State outshot Framingham State 20-6, with 10 shots on goal compared to Framingham's 2. 

  • Fitchburg State's goalkeepers, Isabella Corcoran and Hannah Free, combined for 1 save.
