Field Hockey Shoots Past Salem State on Senior Day

Framingham, MA -  The Framingham State Rams secured a decisive 4-2 victory over the Salem State Vikings in a thrilling field hockey match at Maple St. Field. Prior to the game the Rams honored the three seniors playing in their final season: Angelina Barrett, Rease Perry, Natalia Roehr 

THE BASICS: 

• Score: Framingham State 4, Salem State 2 

• Records: Framingham State (3-11, 2-7 MASCAC), Salem State (5-8, 3-6 MASCAC) 

• Location: Maple St. Field, Framingham, MA 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• The Rams took an early lead in the first quarter with an unassisted goal by Finley Hogan at 4:28. 

• Salem State equalized in the second quarter with a goal from Mikayla Talbot, assisted by Grace Morey and Bree Henderson at 16:07. 

• Framingham State responded quickly with two goals in the second quarter. Mikayla Malmquist scored an unassisted goal at 27:32, followed by Natalia Roehr's goal, assisted by Chloe Moynihan, at 29:05. 

• The Rams extended their lead in the third quarter with an unassisted goal by Reese Perry at 32:56. 

• Salem State's Mikayla Talbot scored her second goal of the game, assisted by Mady Breault, at 34:30, but the Vikings were unable to close the gap further. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

• Framingham State outshot Salem State 19-9, with 12 shots on goal compared to the Vikings' 6. 

• The Rams had a total of 8 penalty corners, while the Vikings had 2. 

• Framingham State's goalkeeper, Angelina Barrett, made 3 saves, securing her first win of the season. 

• Salem State's goalkeeper, Izzy Mosley, recorded 8 saves in the match.
