Wholey Inducted into NEAAU Sports Hall of Fame
Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State University head men's basketball coach Paul Wholey was recognized for his work with the Pops Basketball Club over the past two decades with his induction into the New England AAU Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 15th .
Wholey was actively involved in Massachusetts AAU as the director and coach of the Pops Basketball Club based out of Marshfield. Under Wholey's direction the Pops Program has won multiple State Titles and has qualified for the National Championship Tournaments on several occasions. Players from the Pops Club have gone on to play basketball at the Division I, II and III levels at institution such as Holy Cross, Vermont, Assumption, Stonehill, Babson, Bates and Endicott.
In his first season at the helm of the FSU men's basketball program, Wholey guided the Rams to a 10-15 overall record and a 5-7 mark in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC). Wholey coached a pair of All-MASCAC selections as the fifth place Rams qualified for the MASCAC post season tournament and were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
