Westfield State Edges Men's Basketball 80-77 in MASCAC Opener

Westfield, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team used a strong second half to mount a comeback, but Westfield State was able to hold on for an 80-77 victory over the Rams in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at the Woodward Center.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by 21 points apiece from JD Okafor and Adonis Vashon. Okafor connected on 7-of-11 from the floor and narrowly missed a double double as he grabbed nine boards including four on the offensive glass.  Vashon recorded a double double as he tallied 10 boards with three assists and a steal. 

  • Joshua Saint Jean added a double double of his own as he tallied 19 points on 6-of-9 from the floor and added a team-best 12 rebounds to go along with a pair of assists. 

  • Kyle Philistin was the final Ram to record double figures as he scored 11 points and added four rebounds and four assists.
