Men’s Basketball Surges Past Colby-Sawyer 79-64

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team closed the first half with a run and started the second with another as the Rams defeated Colby-Sawyer 79-64 this evening in non-conference action tonight at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by 26 points from Dyree Rogers. Rogers connected on 11-of-19 from the floor including 3-of-9 from behind the arc. Rogers grabbed a pair of rebounds and recorded two blocks with three steals. 

  • Vondre Chase added 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor and added four and two steals. 

  • Domonick Victor chipped in with nine points and four rebounds off the bench, while Lorenzo Washington finished the night with eight points, six rebounds, 13 assists and five steals. 

  • Colby-Sawyer led 15-8 five minutes into the game, but the Rams used an 8-0 run capped by a Vondre Chase jumper in the paint to take a 16-15 lead. 

  • The two teams went back and forth with neither team leading by more than three until the Rams scored five straight to lead 43-36 with 1:28 on the clock. Colby-Sawyer closed the gap to 43-40, heading to the half.  

  • The second half started with the two teams trading the lead. The Chargers led 53-52 with 13 minutes on the clock. 

  • The Rams rattled off a 15-2 run over the next seven minutes capped by a Chase dunk taking the lead 67-55. The Chargers got as close as eight down the stretch as the Rams secured the victory.

The Rams are back in action on Thursday when they host MIT at 7 p.m.
