Men's Basketball Holds Off New England College for 68-64 Victory

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team used a run to close the first half and a run to open the second half as the Rams held off a late surge from NEC to secure a 68-64 victory in non-conference action tonight at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were paced by 21 points from Dyree Rogers. Rogers connected on 8-of-16 from the floor and added two rebounds, two steals and a block. 

  • Fallou Koite finished the night with 17 points as he went 2-for-3 from beyond the arc and added seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks. 

  • Joshua Saint Jean finished the night with a double double of 15 points and 15 rebounds to go along with three assists, a steal and a block, while Vondre Chase finished the game with nine points and four rebounds. 

  • In the first half, the Pilgrims led by seven, 32-25, with 4:43 on the clock, but the Rams closed the half with a 14-0 run featuring six points from Dyree Rogers to lead 39-32 at the half. 

  • The Rams built the lead to 16 points (50-34) as they started the second half with an 11-2 run capped by a dunk on the break from Koite and a Rogers layup.  

  • The Pilgrims chipped away at the lead pulling within four (56-52) with just under to play.  The Rams pushed the lead back to 65-56 on a Koite free throw with 3:46 on the clock. 

  • The Pilgrims made one last push pulling within three on a three with just over 13 seconds to play, but Lorenzo Washington sank one of two to seal the victory and came up with a steal on the Pilgrims final possession.
