Late Run Lifts Worcester State Past Men’s Basketball

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team was defeated 73-65 by Worcester State University this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by a team-high 24 points from Joshua Saint Jean. Saint Jean connected on 9-of-12 from the floor and added six rebounds, a steal and two blocks. 

  • Isiah Alexander shot 50% from the floor in the game and tallied 14 points with two steals, while Vondre Chase finished the afternoon with 11 points and four rebounds. 

  • Tied at 7-7, the Rams rattled off a 6-0 run capped by a pair of Saint Jean free throws to take a 13-9 lead. The Rams extended their lead to 26-13 midway through the half. 

  • The Lancers closed the half with a run of their own tying the game at 30 before scoring the final three points of the half to lead 33-30 at the break. 

  • Worcester State pushed the lead to 37-31 in the opening minutes of the second. 

  • The Rams responded with a 17-0 run taking a 48-37 lead. The run was fueled by seven points from Saint Jean including a three-point play that put the Rams on top. Isiah Alexander capped the run with a deep three in the corner. 

  • The Lancers countered with 15-3 run of their own reclaiming the lead 52-51 with just over eight minutes to play. 

  • The Rams tied the game at 54-54 with just over four minutes to play, but the Lancers scored reclaiming the lead for good
