Men's Basketball Closes Regular Season with 79-56 Victory over Anna Maria

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team closed the regular season with a 79-56 victory over Anna Maria College in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by a double double of 18 points and 10 rebounds off the bench from AJ Thompson. Thompson who connected on 3-of-4 from behind the arc added two assists and three steals. 

  • Vondre Chase finished the game with a double double of his own as he tallied 15 points with 12 boards. 

  • After a slow start by both teams, the Rams led 20-9 midway through the first half after a three from Vondre Chase. 

  • The Amcats closed the gap two four with just over four minutes to play in the half, but the Rams took a 32-27 lead into the half. Chase led the Rams with nine first half points. 

  • Anna Maria pulled within one, 33-32, four minutes into the second half, but the Rams rattled off a 9-0 capped by a Hayes bucket taking a 42-32 lead. 

  • The Amcats pulled within three on a pair of occasions before the Rams used a 12-2 spurt opening a 58-45 lead. The Rams maintained the lead for the remainder of the second half.
