Four Goal Third Propels UMass Dartmouth Past Men’s Ice Hockey

North Dartmouth, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's ice hockey team surrendered four third period goals as the Rams were defeated 6-4 by UMass Dartmouth in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Hetland Arena.

-Records: Framingham State (1-14-2, 0-9-1 MASCAC), UMass Dartmouth (9-8-1, 6-4-1 MASCAC) 

- Location: Hetland Arena North Dartmouth, Mass.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Corsairs took a 1-0 lead just over three minutes into the game on a goal from Tyler Stewart. 

  • UMass Dartmouth pushed the lead to 2-0 in the opening minutes of the second, befoe the Rams tied the game on a goal from Devin Shepherd cutting the deficit to 2-1.  

  • The Rams tied the game with a power play goal from Scott Bugarin with just under eight minutes to play and took their first lead of the game, 3-2, on a goal from Robert Bernier with just over two to play in the third. 

  • The Corsairs got on the board first in the third tying the game 3-3 five minutes into the frame. The Corsairs tallied the next three goals of the game extending the lead to 6-3 before the Rams received a late goal from Michael Kennedy to reach the final margin. 

  • Liam Kilgallen took the loss in net for the Rams but made 35 saves.
