Nichols enters his 5th season as an Assistant Coach for the Rams. 

Nichols ('16) first joined the Ram’s staff as a volunteer assistant during the 2019 season. He currently assists with the forwards, along with video breakdown and analysis.

A native of Alexandria, VA, Nichols attended Framingham State University and was a member of the ice hockey program for 4 years, being named Assistant Captain his senior year. Nichols graduated from FSU in 2016 with a degree in Finance and minor in Economics with Cum Laude honors. Afterwards, Nichols decided to take his career overseas, playing a season of minor professional hockey in the Swedish Division 2 League. 

Prior to joining the Rams staff, Nichols was a Lead Skills Coach and Director of Training Operations at Michals Hockey Academy in Newton as well as a regional scout for the Madison Capitals of the USHL. In addition, Nichols has spent time as a coaching curriculum instructor for USA Hockey and holds a Level 5 certification. He began his coaching career as a private instructor, teaching power skating and hockey skills lessons for the past 15 years.
