Clancy Sets New Career Hit Record at Framingham State

Framingham, MA - Senior third baseman Colleen Clancy of Lynn, MA broke the Framingham State College softball career hit record with a single down the right field line in the top of the first inning of yesterday's game with Lesley University.  That hit was Clancy's 148th of her career and broke the previous mark of 147 that was set by former Rams standout Christina Sullivan in 2007.

Clancy, a 2006 First Team All-MASCAC selection, went 4-for-7 with two runs scored and an RBI in two wins over Lesley and now has 151 hits in her career.  In addition to the new record set yesterday, Clancy also holds the single season hit record (51) and single season triple record (6) which were both set during the 2008 season.

With the Rams two wins over Lesley, they are now 13-25 on the season heading into this weekend's Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Championship Tournament.  The Rams earned the third seed after finishing the season 8-4 in conference and travel to second seed Bridgewater State on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.  The double elimination tournament concludes on Saturday and Sunday at top seed Westfield State.  For complete MASCAC Tournament information, conference statistics and results please visit the MASCAC website at www.mascac.com.
