Desrochers and Mendonca Earns MASCAC Weekly Honors

Framingham, Mass. – Graduate shortstop Camille Desrochers (Westford, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week and freshman pitcher Olyvia Mendonca (Taunton, Mass.) has been named the MASCAC Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 23rd.

Desrochers earned player of the week honors after hitting .421 (8-for-19) with two doubles, a triple, seven RBI, four walks and four runs scored as the Rams went 5-1 on the week. Desrochers went 2-for-2 with a double, triple and two RBI in the 8-0 win over Salem State. She went 3-for-8 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in the doubleheader sweep of Worcester State. 

Mendonca earns rookie of the week honors after going 3-0 in the circle on the week with a 1.11 ERA. Mendonca went five innings, allowing just one hit in the Rams 8-0 win over Salem State. She went seven innings allowing three earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts in a win over Johnson & Wales. Mendonca closed the week going seven shutout innings allowing just two hits in the 2-0 win over Worcester State.
