Carpenter and McGuill Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

Framingham, MA – Senior outfielder Gwendolyn Carpenter (Ashley Falls, Mass.) and senior first baseman Kelsey McGuill (East Longmeadow, Mass.) have been named to the 2024 National Fast Pitch Coaches Association All-Regions Teams as announced by the NFCA this afternoon. 

Carpenter, a two-time First Team All-MASCAC Selection, earned second team All-Region honors for the first time in her career after an outstanding senior season.  Carpenter was named tournament MVP of the 2023 MASCAC Tournament. Carpenter hit .526 during the tournament with seven runs, six doubles, a home run and seven RBI.  Carpenter went 4-for-8 in the championship round with a grand slam and was recognized as the final Division III Louisville Slugger/MFCA Player of the Week.  Carpenter batted .412 this season with 66 hits, including 16 doubles, four triples, seven home runs and 30 RBI. 

McGuill, a 2024 First Team All-MASCAC Selection, earns third team All-Region honor for the first time in her career after her stella performance during her senior season. McGuill hit a pair of home runs in the Rams sweep of the top seed Westfield State in the championship round to second the Tournament Title for the Rams.  McGuill batted .383 with 51 hits including 17 doubles, a triple and 10 home runs with 42 RBI. 

The 2024 Rams finished the season 25-20 overall and 11-3 in league play. The Rams won their third straight MASCAC Tournament Title after defeating top seed Westfield State twice in the championship round. The Rams defeated the top seed and host Husson University before falling to Williams and Husson at the Bangor Regional of the 2024 NCAA Softball Tournament.
