Fourth Seed Softball Falls to Fifth Seed Bridgewater State 8-6 in Opening Round of MASCAC Tournament

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University softball team saw their season come to a close this afternoon as the Rams were defeated 8-6 by Bridgewater State in an opening round game of the 2026 MASCAC Tournament at Maple Street Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Bears got on the board in the bottom of the first with a pair of unearned runs, but the Rams answered with three in the bottom of the inning including an RBI double from Eliza Carignan. 

  • The Bears retook the lead in the second inning 4-3, but the Rams received a three run home run from Carignan in the bottom of the inning to lead 6-4. 

  • The Bears went up top for good in the top of the fourth when they plated four runs. 

  • Peyton Farris took the loss going seven innings, allowing eight runs, six earned, on 11 hits with two strikeouts and no walks. 

  • Carignan finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI.
