Quincy, Mass. – Senior guard Kristen Hoffman (Foxboro, Mass.) surpassed the 1,000 point mark for her career as the Framingham State University women's basketball team overcame a slow start to defeat Eastern Nazarene 73-34 this evening in non-conference action.
The Rams improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Lions are now 1-1.
Hoffman, who finished with a team-high 11 points, became the 9th Framingham State University women's basketball player to reach the milestone on her first bucket of the game, a lay-up with 12:45 left in the first half. Hoffman entered her senior season need just 36 to reach the milestone and scored 35 in the Rams season opening tournament over the weekend. Hoffman now has 1,010 career points which places her 9th all-time.
Freshman Sarah Palace (Auburn, Mass.) was the only other Ram to record double figures in the game with 10 points, while juniors Nicole Bostic (Easton, Mass.) and Samantha Irvine (Franklin, Mass.) chipped in with nine points apiece. Freshman Montá Connolly (Lynn, Mass.) and Irvine led the Rams on the boards with a team-best seven apiece.
