Women's Basketball Closes Regular Season with 80-58 Win over Fitchburg State

Fitchburg, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball team closed the regular season this afternoon defeating Fitchburg State 80-58 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at the Parkinson Gymnasium. The Rams will be back in action next week in the MASCAC Tournament with the bracket announced later today.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by a career-high 31 points from forward Jacqueline Schels. Schels connected on 9-of-19 from the floor including 4-of-7 from behind the arc. Schels added eight rebounds, an assist, a steal and four blocks. 

  • Faith Greene racked up a double-double of 14 points and a game-best 20 rebounds to go along with two blocks. 

  • Katherine Haselton added a double-double of her own as she scored 12 points and added 12 rebounds.  Haselton added six assists, two steals and two blocks. 

  • The Rams shot 36% from the floor for the game including 24% from behind arc, while the Falcons shot just 30% from the game and 13% from behind the arc. 

  • The Rams broke open the game in the third quarter when they outscored the Falcons 23-8 in the frame taking control of the game.
