Schels Selected NEWBA Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week

Framingham, Mass. - Forward Jacqueline Schels (Hamburg, NJ) has been named the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Rookie of the Week for the week ending February 23rd.    

Schels, who was tabbed as the MASCAC's Rookie of the Week on Monday, averaged 23 points and eight rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Rams. Schels tallied 31 points and eight boards in the win over Fitchburg State to secure the number two seed in the tournament. Schels had 15 points and eight rebounds in the 76-67 setback to Worcester State.
