FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The Framingham State women's basketball team used a 32-point third quarter to roll past the visiting Rivier Raiders 82-53 Wednesday evening at Logan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • First Quarter: The Rams set the tone early, leading 12-6 by the end of the first quarter. Kiara Cerruti scored the first points with a layup, and the team maintained their lead with strong defensive plays.
  • Second Quarter: Framingham State extended their lead to 28-21 by halftime, with Jacqueline Schels contributing significantly with 7 points in the quarter.
  • Third Quarter: The Rams dominated the third quarter, outscoring Rivier 32-14. Kiara Cerruti was on fire, scoring 11 points, including a key three-pointer that energized the crowd.
  • Fourth Quarter: Framingham State continued their dominance, closing out the game with a 22-18 advantage in the final quarter. Shaelagh Green and Bridget Trainor added key points off the bench.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Kiara Cerruti: Led all scorers with 22 points, shooting 10-15 from the field and 2-4 from beyond the arc.
  • Jacqueline Schels: Added 18 points and 5 rebounds, going 6-13 from the field and 5-6 from the free-throw line.
  • Abigail Martin: Contributed 10 points and 9 rebounds, showcasing her presence in the paint.
  • Shaelagh Green: Provided a spark off the bench with 12 points on 5-6 shooting.
  • Team Stats: The Rams shot 47.5% from the field, 33.3% from three-point range, and 78.3% from the free-throw line. They outrebounded Rivier 39-27 and forced 25 turnovers.
