BOSTON, Mass. – Jessie Silk poured in 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting to lead Emerson past Framingham State 85-75 in non-conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Brown & Plofker Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • First Quarter: Emerson jumped out to an early lead, outscoring the Rams 19-14 in the opening frame. Silk scored eight points in the quarter, while Framingham State struggled from beyond the arc, going 0-for-2 from three-point range.
  • Second Quarter: The Lions pulled away with a dominant second quarter, shooting 76.9% from the field and 87.5% from three-point range to build a 46-32 halftime advantage. Silk added 11 points in the period, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the field including three triples.
  • Third Quarter: The Rams battled back, cutting the deficit to six points on multiple occasions. Zaria Anderson came alive off the bench with three three-pointers in the quarter as Framingham State outscored Emerson 21-17.
  • Fourth Quarter: Emerson maintained its lead down the stretch despite a furious rally by the Rams. Kiara Cerruti hit back-to-back three-pointers to cut the lead to seven with six minutes remaining, but the Lions answered each time to secure the victory.

  • Jacqueline Schels: Added 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists while going 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.
  • Abigail Martin: Recorded eight points, eight rebounds and four assists.
  • Jessie Silk: Led Emerson with 26 points, six rebounds and seven assists on 10-of-12 shooting (4-of-4 from three).
  • Team Stats: Emerson shot 60.7% from the field and 50.0% from three-point range, while Framingham State shot 40.0% overall and 40.9% from beyond the arc. The Lions held a 36-30 advantage in points in the paint.
