Women’s Basketball Cruises Past Worcester State 80-52

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball team held the Lancers to just four points in the second quarter as the Rams erased a deficit and went on for an 80-52 victory over Worcester State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by a double-double from Faith Greene. Greene tallied 19 points on 9-of-17 from the floor and added 15 rebounds, three assists and four steals. 

  • Worcester State opened the game with a 7-0 run and led by as many as nine, including leading 15-6 with 4:39 on the clock. 

  • The Rams used a 6-0 run capped by a Kelsey Yelle layup to close the gap to three, but the Lancers pushed the lead back to 22-15 after one. 

  • The Rams held the Lancers to just four points in the second quarter as they erased the deficit and took a 36-26 lead at the half. Martin led the Rams with 13 points in the first half, including nine in the second quarter. 

  • In the third quarter, Worcester closed the gap to eight on a pair of occasions before the Rams before the Rams used an 11-0 to open up a 51-32 lead.
