Wilson's Two Goals Lead Hood to 5-1 Victory Over Women's Ice Hockey

FREDERICK, Md. – Alyssa Wilson scored twice and Maggie Grijalva made 30 saves as Hood defeated Framingham State 5-1 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • First Period: Hood took control early with two goals. Sofie Ancona opened the scoring at 15:51 with an unassisted tally, and Meghan Savage added a power-play goal at 18:19, assisted by Dakota Ormiston and Maria DiPierro. Finley Hogan brought the Rams within one with just two seconds remaining in the period, assisted by Petra Cernicek, to make it 2-1.
  • Second Period: Wilson extended the Hood lead to 3-1 with an unassisted power-play goal at 11:08. Despite multiple power-play opportunities for both teams, the Blazers maintained their two-goal advantage heading into the final frame.
  • Third Period: Molly Hawkins pushed the lead to 4-1 with an unassisted goal at 11:51, prompting Framingham State to replace Lila Chamoun with Zoe Klein in net. Wilson capped the scoring at 14:05 with her second goal of the game, assisted by Ancona and DiPierro, to seal the 5-1 victory.
