Women’s Ice Hockey Falls 3-2 at Salve Regina

MiddletownRI - The Framingham State University women's ice hockey team was defeated 3-2 by Salve Regina this evening in non-conference action at St. Edwards.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Seahawks took a 2-0 lead with the only goal of the first period and a goal just seven minutes into the second frame. 

  • The Rams cut the deficit in half on a tally from Alyssa Tansek off a feed from Molly Murphy midway through the second, but Salve Regina pushed the lead back to two goals with a marker in the final two minutes of the period. 

  • The Rams once again closed the gap to one on an unassisted tally by Rylee Bogren just under three minutes into the third, but they could not find the back of the net with the equalizer down the stretch. 

  • Lila Chamoun took the loss in net but made 51 stops for the Rams as Salve Regina held a 54-24 edge in shots for the game.
