Anna Maria Hands Women's Ice Hockey 4-1 Defeat

WORCESTER, MASS – The Framingham State women's hockey team fell 4-1 to Anna Maria on Friday evening at Anna Maria's home rink, as the Rams struggled to contain a potent AMCats offense that peppered goaltender Lila Chamoun with 46 shots.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Anna Maria drew first blood at 12:01 of the first period when Aliana Gibson tallied an even-strength goal, assisted by August Otto, to give the Cats a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes.
  • The second period saw both teams exchange goals. Anna Maria extended the lead to 2-0 just 1:38 in when Lauren Sundgren converted on the power play, assisted by Ceili Nolan and Quinn Bennett. Framingham State responded at 9:16 when Ella Conway scored her first goal of the season on an even-strength tally, assisted by Amy Tansek, pulling the Rams within one at 2-1.
  • Anna Maria locked down the victory in the third period with back-to-back goals. Alexandra Peterson scored unassisted at 9:41 to make it 3-1, and Alexandria Mupo added a shorthanded empty-net goal at 11:35 to close out the scoring at 4-1.
