Women's Hockey Falls to Salem State 5-1 in Regular Season Finale
FRAMINGHAM, MASS. – The Framingham State women's hockey team closed out its regular season Saturday night with a 5-1 loss to Salem State on home ice. Despite a spirited third-period effort that generated 11 shots and a late power-play goal, the Rams were outshot 45-22 and could not overcome a tough night in the defensive zone.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Salem State opened the scoring at 3:40 of the first period on an even-strength goal by Halle Greenleaf, assisted by Aislinn Bennett, to give the Vikings an early 1-0 lead.
- With FSU on the power play late in the first, Salem State turned the tables — Addie McAughey scored a shorthanded goal at 17:35, assisted by Talia Martucci, to make it 2-0 and deliver the game-winning goal in stunning fashion heading into the first intermission.
- The second period brought more trouble. Ginger Osgood scored at 3:51 off an assist from Mallory Albanese to push it to 3-0, then Isabelle Besser added a fourth at 16:55 on an assist from Bennett to effectively put the game out of reach. FSU made a goaltending change during the period, with Lila Chamoun entering at the 4:58 mark in relief of starter Brigid Milligan.
- Salem State continued on the attack early in the third, with Osgood netting her second goal of the game just 1:26 in, assisted by Albanese and Greenleaf to make it 5-0.
- With under a minute remaining, the Rams avoided the shutout. Lily Wilson scored on the power play at 19:46, assisted by Emma O'Regan, to account for the final 5-1 margin.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- FSU starter Brigid Milligan stopped 23 of 26 shots in 24:58 of work before being relieved in the second period.
- Lila Chamoun made 17 saves on 19 shots in 35:02 of relief.
- Salem State goaltender Delaney Cox turned aside 21 of 22 Framingham State shots for the win.
- Salem State held a commanding 45-22 shot advantage (18-6, 21-5, 6-11 by period) — FSU's best period on the scoresheet was the third with 11 shots.
- FSU went 1-for-7 on the power play; Salem State was 0-for-5 despite generating significant pressure.
- Salem State dominated faceoffs throughout, winning 45 of 70 total draws. Albanese (17-3) was the standout, while FSU's Finley Hogan (10-17) worked the most draws for the Rams.
- Ginger Osgood led all skaters with 2 goals; Mallory Albanese paced Salem State with 2 assists and 6 shots.
- Wilson's power-play goal late in the third prevented the shutout and provided a positive note to end the regular season.
