Parent & Austin Earn All-MASCAC Honors

Buzzards Bay, Mass. – Sophomore midfielder Marisa Parent (Revere, Mass.) and junior forward Kayla Austin (Winchester, Mass.) have been named to the 2012 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams in voting conducted by the league's eight coaches. 

Parent, who earned first team honors, accumulated 17 points this season on eight goals and an assist. Parent was named the MASCAC Player of the Week once as she tallied a pair of game winning goals for the Rams.

Austin, a second team honoree, earns her second All-MASCAC honors as she was a first team selection a season ago.  Austin led the Rams in scoring this season with 10 goals and eight assists for 28 points.  Austin also tallied a pair of game winners for the Rams who finished the 2012 season 7-10-1 overall and 4-3 in the MASCAC which was good enough for fourth place.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom.  MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University.  Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sport of men's ice hockey.
