Women’s Soccer Falls in MASCAC Semifinal at Worcester State

WORCESTER, MASS. – The fifth-seeded Framingham State women's soccer team was defeated by top-seeded Worcester State in the MASCAC semi-final round 1-0 on Friday evening in Worcester. The Lancers advance to the MASCAC Championship Game on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The match remained scoreless through the first half, with both teams displaying strong defensive efforts. 

  • Worcester State broke the deadlock in the 79th minute when Annya O'Rourke found the back of the net, assisted by Ava Lemanski. 

  • Despite a strong effort, the Rams were unable to equalize, with Worcester State's goalkeeper, Ella Gumienny, making three crucial saves. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Framingham State registered six shots, with three on goal. 

  • Worcester State outshot the Rams with 13 total shots, seven of which were on target. 

  • Amelia Finley made six saves for the Rams, keeping the game within reach. 

  • The match saw a total of 21 fouls, with Framingham State committing nine and Worcester State 12. 

  • Both teams earned three corner kicks each.
