Bio

Dick Casali is entering his 21st year as the Rams head volleyball coach in 2024 and joined the Framingham State Athletic Department on a full-time basis in February 2014 as the Equipment and Operations Manager.  

Casali is the Rams all-time winningest coach with 360 career victories and an overall record of 360-247 while on the sideline for the Rams. Casali has guided the Rams to six NCAA tournaments appearances since 2012 and a program best 26-8 mark in 2013.  

The 2023 Rams captured their sixth MASCAC title and NCAA Appearance and reached the 20-win mark for the first time since 2016. The Rams went 4-3 in league play but surged through the MASCAC tournament defeating the top-seed in the Championship Game in a thrilling five-set match.  

The 2022 squad posted a 6-1 record in league play earning them the MASCAC Regular Season Title and top seed in the MASCAC Tournament.  

The 2021 Rams made their return to the NCAA Tournament winning the conference semi-final and championship on the road to take home the Tournament Championship. 

The 2016 Rams qualified for the NCAA Div. III Championship Tournament for the third consecutive season. Along the way the Rams won the MASCAC Tournament and Regular Season Championships while posting an overall record of 22-12 and 6-0 in conference play earning Casali MASCAC Coach of the Year honors. 

The 2015 campaign was another successful one for Casali as the Rams posted a 25-9 record winning the 2015 MASCAC Tournament and earned the programs third NCAA Div. III Championship Tournament appearance. 

Casali's Rams posted a 23-12 record in 2014 winning the MASCAC Regular Season & Tournament Championship and earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Div. III Championship Tournament. In addition, Casali was voted MASCAC Coach of the Year in 2014.  

Casali led the Rams to the 2012 MASCAC Regular Season and Tournament Championship as well as an appearance in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship. 

In 2006 Coach Casali guided the Rams to their first appearance in the ECAC New England Volleyball Championship Tournament.  Coach Casali is IMPACT and CAP II certified for coaching.  

Casali’s additional responsibilities as Equipment & Operations Manager include creating and managing a program for the maintenance, distribution, cleaning and storage of all athletic equipment in addition to maintaining accurate inventory of all athletic practice and competitive gear and equipment. In addition, he will oversee the preparation and supervise the athletic facilities during home athletic contests. 

Coach Casali, who is Framingham native graduated from FSU in 1976.
