Fitchburg State Rallies for 4-2 MASCAC Win Over Field Hockey

Framingham, MA – Fitchburg State overcame an early deficit to secure a 4-2 victory over Framingham State in a field hockey clash on Wednesday evening at Maple Street Field. This win improved Fitchburg State's record to 7-6 overall and 6-0 in conference play, while Framingham State dropped to 4-8 and 2-4 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Samantha Jones answered back for Fitchburg State at 12:58, scoring an unassisted goal to cut the deficit to 2-1. 

  • Fitchburg State took control of the game, starting with Alexis Raymond's equalizer at 33:11, assisted by Sophia Yates. 

  • Olivia Narkevicius then gave Fitchburg State a 3-2 lead at 36:25 with a goal also assisted by Sophia Yates. 

  • Alexis Raymond secured the victory for Fitchburg State, scoring her second goal of the game at 52:42, assisted by Samantha Yates, sealing the 4-2 win.

  • Shots: Fitchburg State led with 17 shots (8 on goal), while Framingham State had 13 shots (8 on goal). 

  • Saves: Fitchburg State's Jenna Morse made 6 saves, while Framingham State's Rowan Whittaker stopped 4 shots. 

  • Penalty Corners: Framingham State had a 9-4 advantage in penalty corners but could not capitalize on the opportunities.
