Men’s Ice Hockey Falls 7-2 at Anna Maria

Auburn, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's ice hockey team was defeated 7-2 this evening by Anna Maria in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Horgan Arena.

-Records: Framingham State (1-6-1, 0-3 MASCAC), Anna Maria (7-1, 3-0 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Amcats got on the board first just three minutes into the game and extended the lead to 4-0 as they tallied the first three goals of the second period. 

  • The Rams closed the second period tallying a pair of goals in the final two minutes. Nathan Gines struck first unassisted at 18 minutes and Jake Barcelou added an unassisted tally with just six seconds left in the frame. 

  • The Amcats added three more in the third period to reach the final margin. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Amcats held a 50-27 edge in shots for the game and both teams went 0-for-2 on the power play. 

  • Alex Timmons took the loss in net for the Rams going the distance and making 43 saves.

  • The Rams are back in action Saturday afternoon when they travel to Fitchburg State at 3 p.m.
