Softball Falls to Endicott and Southern Maine

Clermont, Fla. - The Framingham State University softball team suffered a pair of losses today as they were defeated 10-0 by Endicott before falling 6-2 to Southern Maine in a non-conference action at the Spring Games.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

Endicott-FSU 

  • In the opener, Endicott took a 2-0 lead after single runs in the first two innings. 

  • The Gulls extended the lead with a run in the fifth before piling on with four in the sixth and three in the seventh. 

  • Peyton Farris took the loss in the circle going 5.1 innings, allowing seven runs, five earned, on nine hits with three strikeouts. 

  • Kristen Beebe earned the victory for the Gulls going seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits with 11 strikeouts and four walks. 

USM.-FSU 

  • Southern Maine took the early lead in the bottom of the first inning and extended the advantage to 4-0 after scoring three runs in the bottom of the third. 

  • The Rams were hitless through the first three innings, before Isabella MacDonald broke through for a single in the top of the fourth inning.  

  • Southern Maine capped the scoring in the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth. 

  • Audrey Gauthier took the loss in the circle going six innings, allowing, six runs, five earned, on 15 hits with four walks and three strikeouts.

The Rams are back in action next Thursday when they face Fredonia and Wisconsin-Stevens Point at the Spring Games.
