Softball Walks Off with Game Two in Split with Bridgewater State

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University softball team walked off with a 9-1 six inning victory in game two over Bridgewater State to salvage a split of a MASCAC doubleheader as the Bears took game one 11-1 in five innings at Maple Street Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • In the opener, the Bears plated runs in each of their first four at bats and led 11-0 while holding the Rams hitless until the bottom of the fourth inning. 

  • Ava Gray knocked a double to right in the bottom of the fourth for the Rams first hit of the game. 

  • The Rams tallied a run in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single from Eliza Carignan. 

  • Audrey Gauthier took the loss in the circle going two innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and three walks. 

  • In game two, the Bears got on the board in the top of the third, but the Rams answered with an RBI single from Carignan in the bottom of the inning tying the game. 

  • The Rams closed the game with five in the bottom of the sixth including a solo home run from Gray and a three run homer from Gianna Paolino to end the game.
