Softball Takes Game Two in Split with Worcester State

Worcester, Mass. - The Framingham State University softball team was victorious 11-1 in six innings over Worcester State in game two of a MASCAC doubleheader as the Lancers took game one 9-1 in five innings.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • In the opener, the Lancers took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but the Rams cut the deficit in half in the top of the second on a solo home run from Amanda Roche. 

  • The Lancers plated three in the second and third innings and added a single run in the fifth to earn the run rule victory. 

  • Peyton Farris took the loss in the circle for the Rams going 2.1 innings, allowing eight runs, six earned on 11 hits. 

  • Roche finished the game 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI, while Ellie Etemad-Gilbertson added a pair of hits. 

  • In game two, the Rams jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the second. Mikayla Yuricheck plated a run with a sacrifice fly and Isabella MacDonald added a two run single. 

  • The Rams added three more in the top of the third to lead 8-0.  Gianna Paolino plated a run with a double and Etemad-Gilbertson added a two run single. 

  • The Lancers got on the board in the bottom of the inning, but the Rams added three in the sixth to reach the final score. 

  • Audrey Gauthier earned the victory in the circle going six innings, allowing one run on six hits with six strikeouts. Gauthier also went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, three RBI and two runs scored.
