Softball Splits Doubleheader with Clark

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University softball team took game one by a score of 1-0 before Clark came back in game two and earned the split by a score of 5-3 in eight innings in non-conference action at Maple Street Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • In the opener, the Rams plated the game's only run on an RBI single from Isabella MacDonald in the second inning. 

  • Peyton Farris earned the victory tossing four scoreless innings allowing just two hits, while Audrey Gauthier closed the game with three shutout innings in relief. 

  • MacDonald finished the game 2-for-3 with an RBI. 

  • In game two, the Rams plated single runs in the first and third innings to lead 2-0, but the Cougars tied the game in the top of fourth. 

  • The game remained tied until the top of the eighth when the Cougars pushed three runs across. The Rams received an RBI double from Eliza Carignan in the bottom of the inning to reach the final margin. 

  • Julianna Chisholm took the loss in the circle going 2.2 innings and allowing three runs, two earned, on two hits.
