Softball Falls to Wellesley in Non-Conference Action

Wellesley, Mass. - The Framingham State University softball team was defeated 6-4 by Wellesley in the resumption of a game suspended back in March before falling 3-1 to the Blue in a non-conference action this afternoon.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • Wellesley led 2-0 in a game that began back in March but was halted due to weather in Florida and the two runs proved to be the difference in the game as each team tallied four runs in the seventh inning today when the game resumed. 

  • Audrey Gauthier took the loss in the circle going seven innings, allowing six earned runs on eight hits. 

  • In the second game, the Blue took a 3-0 lead after scoring one in the third and two in the sixth. 

  • The Rams got on the board in the seventh on an RBI single from Maddie Blette to reach the final margin. 

  • Peyton Farris took the loss going six innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts. 

  • Ava Gray finished the game 2-for-2 with a run scored, while Blette finished 1-for-1 with an RBI.
