Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University softball team took game one 7-2 before falling 9-3 to Nichols in a non-conference doubleheader this afternoon.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

In the opener, the Rams grabbed a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a two run double from Kate Brodzinski and an RBI single from Ellie Etemad-Gilbertson.

Nichols scored single runs in the third and fifth to close the gap to 3-2, but the Rams plated four in the bottom of the inning to lead 7-2.

Peyton Farris earned the victory in the circle going seven innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits.

Jocelyn Pepe and Amanda Roche each went 2-for-3 in the game with two runs scored and an RBI.

In game two, the Bison plated three in the first and added one in the third to lead 4-0, but the Rams used a sacrifice fly from Eliza Carignan to cut the gap to 4-1.

The Bison scored single runs in the fourth and fifth to lead 6-1.

Nichols extended the lead to 9-1 before the Rams plated single runs in the bottom of the sixth and seven to reach the final margin.

Audrey Gauthier took the loss going 4.1 innings allowing six runs, four earned, on nine hits.
